An Ideal Backpack For Star Wars Fans

c_3po

Attention, lovers of the legendary Star Wars trilogy! I know you’re out there. Are some of the androids from these films among your favorite characters? Of course, I’m talking about R2D2 and C-3P0. Would you be excited if I told you one of these lovable characters can help you carry your stuff when you’re on the go during the day?

If your answer was yes, then I’m very pleased to present to you the C-3P0 Bespin Backpack from ThinkGeek. As the name clearly implies, this backpack is based on C-3P0’s terrible ordeal during Empire Strikes Back. You might remember that unfortunate scene in the movie when “Goldenrod” was shot to pieces and later clumsily reassembled by Chewbacca the Wookie who then carried the wounded droid on his back afterward. Well, that film reference definitely applies in the case of the C-3P0 Bespin Backpack. Obviously, it was made to carry your important stuff like any other personal bag.

As you might have guessed, this backpack is Star Wars memorabilia truly to be coveted by diehard fans of the movie series. The C-3P0 Bespin Backpack also comes with the option of being assembled as a full robot figurine when you’re not carrying it. With this personal bag, you could live out your own version of Chewie’s unpleasant experience of having a whining C-3P0 dangling on his back. Of course, you’d have to use your imagination for the part when the droid is actually talking to you. I bet you can almost imagine being called an “overgrown mophead” even now.

A New Motion Chair For An Interactive Movie Experience At The Theater

megaplex

In today’s culture, film studios and theater companies face tough competition in keeping people motivated to see flicks on the big screen instead of at home. Nowadays, watching movies on DVD or online through a web service is very popular, the Blu-ray disc is gradually taking over the market of home theater and current rental fees are usually cheaper than theater ticket prices. Theaters often use special offers and gimmicks as strategies to keep their customers coming back for repeat business. These strategies include online ticket discounts, discounts on snacks and beverages, free drink refills, bottomless popcorn bucket offers and 3D featured films. Now a company called D-BOX Technologies has developed a special motion chair to give the moviegoer an interactive, film experience.

They call their new theater chair the D-BOX MFX Motion Seat. This motion chair is intended to take the movie theater experience to another level by enabling a film fan to actually feel the action taking place during a featured motion picture. The MFX is designed to move accordingly in response to the events occurring in a movie. When active, the chair moves similar to a game simulator and the seat itself is also designed to generate sensations of feeling as well.

D-BOX Technologies has started a partnership with the Megaplex 20 in South Jordan. This month, Megaplex 20 will be the first theater to use the MFX Motion Seat. Twenty-eight of these chairs will be installed in four rows for the theater and they will also be available in time for the release of the upcoming Prince of Persia movie. If these chairs become the new standard for local film auditoriums, then going to the movies might end being a simulation experience. Personally, I wonder if D-BOX Technologies has considered that their concept could actually distract people from watching the movie they came to see since their chair would be in continuous motion. Let’s not forget that some people are prone to motion sickness.
