Yes, there are a lot of MP3 players out there, and you don’t have to buy the ones with an “i” in front of them.
Take the Sandisk Sansa Clip Plus, for example. I had a chance to try out this tiny MP3 Player with a SD card slot, FM tuner, and voice recorder, and it is pretty decent.
